About Dr. Roop
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!) and went on to complete my doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) at Indiana State University. During graduate training, I discovered my passion for neuropsychology while completing a practicum in the Department of Neurology and Neuropsychology at Indiana University School of Medicine.
I then pursued specialized training through an APA-accredited internship in neuropsychology at the Missouri Health Sciences Psychology Consortium, where I worked at both the Truman VA and the University of Missouri. Afterward, I completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA).
My approach to neuropsychological evaluations is individualized, patient-centered, and evidence-based. I take time to understand each person’s history and concerns, and I use scientifically validated testing methods to assess cognitive strengths and challenges. I also integrate medical, emotional, and lifestyle factors that may contribute to symptoms. My goal is to provide clear feedback and practical, research-grounded recommendations that support daily functioning, guide treatment planning, and improve quality of life.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time on the lake with my partner. I’m also a big LSU fan and love cheering on the Tigers during football season. When I’m not on the water or watching a game, you’ll often find me tending to my plants, exploring Austin’s food scene, or planning our next travel adventure.
I feel grateful for the opportunity to support patients and their families in understanding and improving their brain health.
