Welcome to Insight Neuropsychology.

I’m Dr. Samantha Roop, a licensed clinical neuropsychologist based in Austin, Texas. I provide comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for adults and older adults who are facing memory changes, neurological conditions, or just wanting to better understand how their brain is working.

I currently offer evaluations as a contracted provider at the Neurobehavioral Institute of Austin, a private group practice. While my services are delivered through NBAustin, this site represents my independent professional practice and provides information about my background and approach to patient care.

The goal of my clinical practice is to support brain health and empower informed decision-making by providing meaningful insight into you or your loved one’s current cognitive functioning.

Baseline
Evaluations

For individuals who want to establish a baseline of cognitive functioning. Having this record allows for more accurate comparison if changes occur later in life, and can be especially valuable for those with medical risk factors or a strong family history of dementia.

Neurodegenerative Diseases

Specialized evaluations for concerns related to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy body dementia, and frontotemporal dementia. The focus is on early detection, differential diagnosis, and recommendations that support patients and families in managing daily life.

Pre-surgical
Evaluations

Neuropsychological assessments are often required before certain neurosurgical procedures, including epilepsy surgery and deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. These evaluations help determine if surgical intervention is appropriate, identify potential risks, and establish cognitive baselines for post-surgical monitoring.
